About Our Services
Shelby & Sons Title Company, Inc. is a private service provider based in Helena, Montana. We are not a government agency. We prepare and submit documents to the Montana Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) and the Montana Secretary of State on behalf of our clients.
Our services include:
- Montana LLC formation and filing
- Vehicle title and registration document preparation and submission
- Certified Commercial Registered Agent services
- Annual business maintenance and compliance filings
- Related document preparation services
Service Relationship
By using our services, you understand and agree that:
- We prepare and submit documents on your behalf. Final approval, issuance of titles, registration, license plates, and LLC certificates is determined by the applicable state agency.
- Processing times are estimates. Standard processing is approximately 7 to 10 business days. Rush service is available in as few as 3 business days. Actual timelines depend on state processing and shipping.
- We are not responsible for delays caused by state agency processing times, incomplete or incorrect information provided by the client, shipping carriers, or circumstances beyond our control.
- You are responsible for providing true, complete, and accurate information and documents.
Fees and Payment
- All fees are non-refundable and apply to all services, as stated on our Services & Fees page.
- Service fees are listed separately from state fees. Some services include state fees; others do not. Refer to the individual service description for details.
- Payment is due at the time of service request.
Client Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information on all forms and documents
- Provide true and correct original documents when required
- Respond to requests for additional information or documentation in a timely manner
- Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, including your home state’s tax and registration requirements
- Consult a qualified tax professional regarding any tax implications of forming a Montana LLC or registering a vehicle in Montana
Tax and Legal Disclaimer
We do not provide tax or legal advice. Montana does not impose a general sales tax, and forming a Montana LLC may offer certain advantages depending on your situation. However, your home state may impose use tax or other obligations on vehicles used in that state. Consult a qualified tax professional for guidance specific to your circumstances.
Registered Agent Services
As your Certified Commercial Registered Agent (CRA1610659, Montana Secretary of State), we accept service of process and official correspondence on behalf of your Montana LLC. This service continues on an annual basis and requires payment of the annual business maintenance fee.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Shelby & Sons Title Company, Inc. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use of our services. Our total liability shall not exceed the fees paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
Intellectual Property
All content on this website, including text, images, logos, and design, is the property of Shelby & Sons Title Company, Inc. and may not be reproduced without written permission.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Montana. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Lewis and Clark County, Montana.
